Ballyhane Stakes Day to Deliver Big Racing and Bigger Experiences at Naas Racecourse
July 22, 2025 | Niamh Byrne
Naas Racecourse is preparing to host its richest fixture of the year, Irish EBF Ballyhane Stakes Day, on Bank Holiday Monday, 4th August. A celebration of racing, community, and family fun, the day promises a wide range of activities and experiences to complement the high-quality action on the track.
Off the track, there is plenty going on with a Rugby Sweepstakes competition open to all raceday attendees. The lucky entrants will be picked out of a random draw, and each participant assigned a runner in the Irish EBF Ballyhane Stakes, with the chance to win one of three exciting prizes. The top prize includes two tickets to the 2025 Autumn Internationals – Ireland v Australia – at the Aviva Stadium, along with a hotel stay provided by Cassidy Travel. The runner-up will enjoy an overnight stay at Lawlor’s Hotel, and third place will receive a VIP Day at the races, including dinner for two in the Panoramic Restaurant. All participants drawn and matched with a horse in the race will also receive a complimentary copy of The Centenary of Naas Racecourse book.
This year’s Ballyhane Stakes Day will also mark Naas Racecourse’s first-ever dedicated Neurodiverse Day. A wheelchair-accessible Sensory Express Bus will be on site, providing a mobile sensory room filled with calming features such as bubble tubes, colour-changing ball pools, waterwalls, and tactile elements. In addition, suites will be designated as quiet zones for families, equipped with ear defenders, sensory toys, and relaxing aids to offer a comfortable breakaway space when needed.
Adding further colour to the day is the return of the popular Treo Eile Meet the Racehorse Experience, with thanks to Declan Landy Fencing. Visitors will have the chance to meet Briar Hill, a former Slaney Hurdle winner and current equine ambassador, and learn more about life behind the scenes in the world of horse racing.
Speaking ahead of the event, Aidan McGarry General Manager at Naas Racecourse, said: “Irish EBF Ballyhane Stakes Day is a celebration of more than just great racing, it’s a day that brings the entire community together. From rugby fans to families and those looking for a more inclusive and welcoming experience, we’re proud to offer something for everyone. It’s shaping up to be one of the best days of the summer.”
