A man was stabbed in the back and another slashed in a “targeted attack”. Merseyside Police received a call from North West Ambulance Service at around 7.15pm on Monday, July 21 which said a man had been stabbed in the back and was being treated at a home on Jason Street in Everton.
Officers went to the scene and following further inquiries, a second injured man was found at nearby home and he had suffered a slash wound to his arm. The two men, aged 21 and 18, were both arrested on suspicion of affray and section 18 wounding with intent and taken to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.
The 18-year-old has since been discharged and is currently in police custody, while the other man remains in hospital in a stable condition, police said. When the ECHO went to the scene on Monday, a cordon was in place on Mark Street.
What appeared to be spatters of blood could also be seen on the pavement and police covered this with a plastic bag and tape. A forensics officer was seen scouring the pavement with a torch. There was also a trail of blood on the other side of the pavement.
A witness said he saw “around 20 police cars” pull up to the scene on Mark Street. He also said an ambulance was at the scene earlier in the evening. Merseyside Police said an investigation is ongoing into the incident to establish exactly what happened and several cordons remain in the place.
