The best thing about George Square at the moment is that it is not too busy (that will come in a week or so when the Fringe begins).
But the really best thing is that the Edinburgh Folk and Food Festival is filling the garden with music and great food – and it is our best recommendation this week.
This is the city’s only free to enter food festival and there are two Spiegeltents filled with loads of great acts. The daily programme includes masterclasses, tastings, pairings and children’s activities. Edinburgh Food Social is running family friendly sessions.
All dates and events are on the programme here.
The opening night last Friday was a sun-soaked balmy Edinburgh evening when the square was full to the brim. And Duncan Chisholm played in the Palais de Varieté to a packed house. There are still many events to come – go to George Square!
