Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins | Coming Soon to Channel 4

Michaella McCollum has been announced as a contestant in the new series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

The Co Tyrone woman, who spent three years in jail in Peru on drug smuggling charges and was released from prison in 2016, is part of this year’s line up on the Channel 4 series.

The 30-year-old will be joined by fellow contestants including ex-footballer and broadcaster, Adebayo ‘The Beast’ Akinfenwa. ex-Premier League footballer Troy Deeney, professional Boxer Conor Benn, and TV Personalities Louie Spence and Tasha Ghouri.

Also part of this series’ line up is The Traitors winner Harry Clark, singer and actress Hannah Spearritt, TV personality and yoga Teacher Rebecca Loos, TV personality and influencer Chloe Burrows, drag artist and DJ Bimini, musicians Lady Leshurr and Lucy Spraggan, and Love Islander and reality TV star Adam Collard.

Michaella said: “The level of resilience I learned from being in prison in Peru and knowing how important that mindset is, will definitely help get me through the course, so I’m going to need to use my mental strength to help me along the way.

“In Peru, I was completely stripped back to the rawest version of myself…and I know in this course, it will have a similar effect. I will get to see the real me again and I want to challenge myself to see how capable I am. I don’t know if I’m physically fit enough to complete the course but I have good mental strength.”

Describing the series, Channel 4 say: “In a world facing uncertain times, FOURTEEN celebrities from the world of music, entertainment and sport are being called upon to take part in the most gruelling phase of Special Forces selection.

“This squad of fourteen celebrities will step up to that challenge as they learn how to defend their great nation, in the latest series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. Airing across EIGHT one-hour episodes this seventh series can be streamed or watched live every Sunday and Monday from 9pm on Channel 4, starting on 3 August.”
