If you are looking for a job and having a hard time, you are not alone.
Employers are hiring at the slowest pace in more than a decade, even as unemployment and layoffs are relatively low.
Troy Taylor, a recruiter at Platinum Staffing Group in Brooklyn Park, says having the right resume can help you stand out from the crowd.
“Have a clear objective as to why you’re looking for that job,” Taylor said. “A generic resume is going to do nothing for you. It’s not going to set you apart. Don’t be cluttered. A lot of people list every single thing they’ve done in their life.”
Taylor’s advice for an interview includes dressing well, making good eye contact and knowing some history of the company where you’re interviewing.
