A Colombian porn actor was convicted of murdering two men in West London and trying to dispose of their body parts hidden in a suitcase in July last year, authorities said.
The backstory:
Yostin Mosquera, 35, was found guilty of murdering a couple, Paul Longworth, 71, and Albert Alfonso, 62, after a trial at Woolwich Crown Court.
The verdict came after Mosquera wanted to plead guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of a loss of self-control, but it was rejected by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

Prosecutors said that on July 8, while Mr. Longworth was still alive and speaking with a neighbor from his window, Mosquera used YouTube and Google to research how to cause a fatal head injury. He then closed the curtains, attacked Longworth with a hammer, and hid his body in the storage compartment of a divan bed.
“Later that evening and before Mr Alfonso returned from work, Mosquera was using Google again to search for how long it would take for a corpse to start decomposing and accessed his boarding pass for a return flight to his native Colombia,” CPS said.

After killing Alfonso, Mosquera tried to transfer £4,000 from his account and withdrew cash from ATMs.
The next day, he ordered a chest freezer and arranged for a stranger to help transport two suitcases to Bristol.
On July 10, he was seen on the Clifton Suspension Bridge with the suitcases—one leaking blood—before fleeing when confronted.
Police later discovered body parts in the luggage, which led them to the victims’ London flat, where their heads and other remains were found in a freezer.
Mosquera was arrested near Bristol Temple Meads Station on July 13 and charged with both murders.
What they’re saying:
“At trial, he claimed that it was Mr Alfonso who had killed Mr Longworth. Fearing he was about to be attacked himself, Mosquera said he lost control and killed Mr Alfonso. Prosecutors rejected his version of events,” CPS said in a press release.
CPS said not only did CCTV and employment records prove that Alfonso was at work when Longworth was killed, “Mosquera’s search history on his laptop showed that he was looking to purchase a chest freezer even before committing his first savage killing” and other footage captured on cameras in a bedroom showed him repeatedly stabbing Alfonso to death.
Detective Chief Inspector Ollie Stride of the Metropolitan Police, who led the investigation, said, “Paul and Albert had been together for decades in a loving, committed relationship and had welcomed Mosquera into their home. They did not deserve to have their lives taken in such a horrific and traumatic way.”
