A legendary world champion claims he should have had his hand raised when he faced Floyd Mayweather Jr over a decade ago.

‘Money’ Mayweather is often credited with being one of the greatest fighters to have ever graced the sport, remaining unbeaten throughout the duration of his decorated professional career.

He captured world titles in five weight divisions throughout the course of his 21-year tenure, defeating a number of generational greats along the way including the likes of Canelo Alvarez, Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao, facing the latter in the ‘Fight Of The Century’ back in 2015.

In an interview with Fight Hub TV, eight-division world champion Pacquiao reflected on that monumental showdown with Mayweather, as the Filipino icon admits that he believes he should have been declared the winner instead of ‘Money’.

“What I remember is like I wanted a good fight, fight toe-to-toe like that but he’s running, but I thought I won the fight. I mean I threw a lot of punches even though he’s moving around, I can’t imagine why I lost that fight.”

After an underwhelming 12-round bout in Las Vegas back in May of 2015, Mayweather was declared the winner via unanimous decision to unify the WBC, WBA and WBO world welterweight titles.

Pacquiao made a sensational return to the ring last weekend, fighting to a close majority decision draw against reigning WBC world welterweight champion Mario Barrios at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The 46-year-old is has confirmed that he plans to continue his boxing career, with rumours circulating that he could actually face either Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero or WBA world lightweight champion Gervonta Davis next.
