The Tour de France is the most viewed cycling event in the world and one of sport’s most watched events in the world. Hence, lots of spectators take the opportunity to try and be on TV to reach fame on their own. However often times, this happens through reckless means and one such has happened today in Valence as 1 minute before the finale of stage 17, French police tackled a man who jumped over the barriers with his bike and rode through the finish line.

It is an unbelievable situation that developed in the French city, where a bunch sprint was expected. Exactly one week after an anti-Israel protestor ran besides stage winner Jonas Abrahamsen in the stage finale in Toulouse, a spectator of the Tour tried to do similar – only now on top of his bike.

Due to the proximity to the finish, several photographers were on site and managed to capture the moments where the man, in a Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale equipment, first evaded the move of one policeman, but was then tackled to the ground and arrested on the spot.
