Luke Rockhold and Darren Till got physical as they finally faced off ahead of their boxing fight in Manchester next month.
Former UFC middleweight champion Rockhold even threw a kick at Till as the pair were held back by security after an intense press conference. The pair stole the show on a stage they shared with Misfits Boxing boss KSI, Tik Tok star Salt Papi and UFC legends Tony Ferguson and Dan Hardy.
Till even fired out a jab about Rockhold’s fling with chart-topping singer Demi Lovato in a heated exchange that saw the pair build hype for their August 30 date. They will now return to camp before heading to Manchester next month for what is sure to be an exciting fight week.
Luke Rockhold kicks out at Darren Till as pair dragged away from face-off
Luke Rockhold travelled to the United Kingdom this evening to come head-to-head with Darren Till ahead of their fight next month. And after an intense day of face-offs, interviews and a heated press conference, they made it to the face-off.
After Salt Papi and Tony Ferguson’s understated moment, it was something of a shock when Till and Rockhold went straight in and made contact with their foreheads. Security instantly intervened as the pair both grabbed at each other’s necks.
Rockhold, boasting a new shock of blonde hair, attempted to get back to a face-off, but security kept them apart as they did their final poses. However, the American did try to throw a little kick towards the end, albeit nowhere near his rival.
Darren Till mocked Luke Rockhold over Demi Lovato fling
From the off, Till was in peak form on the microphone as he took a number of shots at Rockhold during their press conference. He noted the American’s previous knockouts, and his quitting against Mike Perry in his sole BKFC effort.
Rockhold and Till went back-and-forth with insults, with the American mocking his rival’s appearance while the Brit insisted his opponent was on steroids. There is no indication that either fighter has ever had any issues with drug testing.
“You’re bothered about how you look and the ladies,” Till joked. “But then again, with the ladies you’re not even that good. Look what you done to Demi Lovato. Come on, Luke. You think you’re a ladies man, look what you’re out here doing to ladies!”
