RTCA seeks to spotlight the quiet heroes and champions—those whose courageous actions on behalf of a human or horse embody noble qualities and selflessness. These heroes may not make headlines, but their impact is immeasurable. Their stories are often about saving lives, making a difference, and inspire us all.
The 2024 White Horse Award was presented to Bo Butler, setting a powerful example of compassion and quick thinking. Watch Bo’s story here.
This year’s honoree will be celebrated with a special video presentation during RTCA’s Night of Faith, Hope, & Love on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Del Mar Thoroughbred Club in Del Mar, California, during the Breeders’ Cup World Championships week. There will also be a trophy presentation at their location, allowing the community to celebrate them as well.
Nominations can be submitted online by visiting RTCA’s website
