Until the September 1 deadline has passed, Manchester United can be expected to have a busy few weeks ahead of them in the summer transfer window.
It’s already been a busy few weeks for United, with two new signings already confirmed. Bryan Mbeumo completed a move to Old Trafford earlier this week, joining Matheus Cunha as a new signing completed by the Reds this summer, with Diego Leon also moving to Manchester.
There are now plenty of rumours claiming to provide updates on what United could do next in the transfer market in terms of new signings. When it comes to departures, United saw Marcus Rashford leave the club on Wednesday to complete a loan move to Barcelona.
Here, the Manchester Evening News takes a look at some of the latest United transfer news and gossip that has emerged over the last 24 hours.
Javi Guerra decision
United have been handed a potential boost in the race to sign Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra.
Reports have claimed that United have an interest in signing Guerra this summer, and now Marca has provided an update on the midfielder’s future.
It has been claimed that Guerra has turned down a new contract offer from the La Liga outfit, which is likely to catch the attention of United amid reported interest in his signature.
AC Milan have also been mentioned as a potential destination for the Spain Under-21 international this summer.
MEN Sport says: “It’s no surprise to see Guerra’s name continue to be mentioned on the United rumour mill, given that the midfielder is widely regarded as one of the best prospects in Europe. If United can beat rival competition for his signature, it would be a significant achievement, to say the least.”
Dan Ndoye wanted
United are reportedly showing an interest in signing Bologna star Dan Ndoye.
According to Italian news outlet Il Resto del Carlino, United will battle Nottingham Forest for the forward’s signature this summer.
It has been claimed that United are expected to approach Bologna in an attempt to sign Ndoye, with suggestions that a bid worth up to €45million (£39million) is on the cards.
Forest have reportedly already failed with their first attempt to sign Ndoye after having a €30million (£26million) bid turned down.
MEN Sport says: “Ndoye is a key player on the wing for Bologna, which is a position he would expect to star in for United if he was to move to Old Trafford. Given that Marcus Rashford has left the club on loan, and there could be more departures with Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Antony, it’s no surprise to see United linked with signing a winger this summer.”
