A new Lounge bar is coming to yet another Bristol neighbourhood as the chain continues its huge expansion. Redfield will be the latest to welcome the cafe-bar brand, which began in Bedminster in 2002 but has since gone on to national success with hundreds of sites.
Rubino Lounge is set to open on Church Road on Wednesday, August 6, in the unit that was formerly the CM3 bargain shop.
The site was confirmed in April when planning permission was sought, but now more details have been confirmed including the opening date. It comes just a day after the company announced a new Lounge in the former Harvester in Bradley Stoke, and a month after its latest restaurant opened in Brislington.
Rubino Lounge will create around 30 jobs for local people, according to parent company Loungers, which also runs the Cosy Club brand. Rubino Lounge will be open all day, every day for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and drinks, promising full kids’, gluten-free and vegan menus, served in a relaxed, welcoming space.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Loungers plc said: “The Loungers build and design team has transformed the former CM3 site on Church Road in their unmistakable and unique style. A real home from home, Rubino Lounge will cater for all tastes throughout the day with a varied and innovative all-day menu.
“Particular attention will be paid to families with a selection of games, books, colouring pencils, and pads on offer. A full menu, high chairs and baby-changing facilities are also available for little Loungers.”
Rubino Lounge will have “community and neighbourhood at its heart”, Loungers plc said. The cafe-bar will welcome locals looking for a space for regular catch-ups, meetings and events, everything from business networking, book or knitting clubs to parent and baby meets and life drawing classes.

John English, head of community at the Lounges, said: “We can’t wait to open the doors of Rubino Lounge. We hope our family friendly environment and top-notch food and drink offering will prove popular with local residents and visitors.
“We’re passionate about integrating genuinely into the communities we serve so we’re looking forward to meeting everyone and to playing our part at the heart of Redfield’s food and drink scene. Anyone looking for a space to host events or groups should pop in once we are open, we’d love to hear from them and see what we can do to help.”
