Two schoolboys have taken their hobby worldwide and are making history in the process. Perry Howarth, 13, and his brother Myles, 11, from West Derby, have performed at parties and festivals from Walton and Bootle to Amsterdam and Egypt.
The brothers played at Berlin’s Rave the Planet Parade 2025 which attracted 300,000 visitors. This massive techno parade transforms Berlin’s Strasse des 17, one of the city’s main streets, into a carnival of music. For the first time in the history of the event, a music truck featured on the parade which was powered entirely by child DJs. This included Perry and Myles.
Their stage names are DJ Pezza and DJ Myles respectively. When they perform together, they go by the name of Frequency Bros. Speaking to the ECHO about how her kids discovered their passion, mum Kathy Howarth said: “Perry started to get interested in music when he was only eight years-old.
“A company called Mind Mystery attended a breakfast club at his junior school, St Pauls and Timothy’s, to deliver a music/dance programme by Kaci lea Lynch and a martial arts programme delivered by coach Shaun T.
“Perry had a go of Kaci DJ controller and his love of DJing started from there. Perry came out of school and asked for DJ and equipment for his ninth birthday which was only a few weeks away.
“Once Perry started DJ lessons and had his own starter equipment, he would practise every night. He then started to DJ in his own time at his junior school after clubs and school discos and to gain more experience.”

Perry then started to message companies around Merseyside, offering to DJ at any events they had coming up. His first break came in October 2023, when he was given a slot to perform at a Loco Kidz event at Ten Street Social in Liverpool city centre. The firm runs events for children aged 11 to 15 years-old in Liverpool.
Kathy said: “It’s from there that Perry really started to get noticed. Danielle and Dan Ambrose, the owners of Loco Kidz, went on and made him one of their resident DJs.”
Myles was at his brother’s side throughout and soon plucked up the courage to start performing himself. Kathy said: “In March 2024, Myles started to get lessons off Dan Ambrose. Dan prepares the boys ready for their events and gives them endless support.
“Myles is known for mastering genres such as House and Club music and has already shown great potential as a DJ. He regularly performs alongside his brother at Open Deck nights for Loco Kidz and practices diligently at home.”
The brothers’ partnership has taken them all over the world. Kathy explained: “They have created something truly special, blending music and family unity to deliver unforgettable moments.
“Perry and Myles DJ’ed in Egypt in December for the New Year’s Eve Party at the Pickalbatros resort in Hurghada. This was a great start to the new year.”
The brothers also have a show on Kids Rave Radio, while Perry has residencies at Pioneer Fitness in Bootle and No 9 Bar and Kitchen in Walton.
Kathy said it’s the performance in Berlin which has been the biggest achievement so far. She explained: “Perry and Myles both said the experience with Rave The Planet blew them away.
“That’s by far their biggest platform they have DJ for, and the atmosphere was electric. Memories of this event will stay with them forever and they are so thankful to Kids Rave for giving them the opportunity to be at another historic event. They wish they could do it all over again.”
Kathy never expected this to happen when Perry started DJing. She said: “I thought it was a hobby. I never thought anything would come of it, even though it was like an expensive hobby because of the lessons and the equipment.
“I never imagined any of this. I am very proud, but I love the fact that they’re doing it now together. Originally it was just Perry DJing and Myles just used to stand there. I love seeing them DJ together.”
