Brum Brew Fest. If you couldn’t guess, it’s a celebration of Birmingham’s independent beer scene—with 35 of the city’s best independent pubs, bars and taprooms coming together for a five-day, beer-fuelled exploration of venues across multiple neighbourhoods.
Established in 2022 by Catherine Webber (founder of female-led meet-up Brum Beer Babs), it’s now in its fourth year, with the festival expected to return from August 5 to 9, 2025. Even better, this year’s trail coincides with the arrival of The Great British Beer Festival to Birmingham, which is taking over the NEC on the same dates.
It’s completely free to head out on the city-wide trail. Just grab a free Brum Brew Fest trail guide from any of the participating venues, which spans Stirchley, Kings Heath, Moseley, Harborne, Bearwood, the City Centre, Digbeth and the Jewellery Quarter. At each venue, remember to collect a stamp with any drink purchased.
Complete it at your leisure, but the first 600 people to collect five venue stamps will get a festival pin badge. Once you have all five races over to one of the 3 badge collection venues (Attic Brew Co. Taproom, Cherry Reds, or The Wolf) to pick up the limited-edition badge designed in collaboration with Punks & Chancers.
