Two trailers for major limited-release films coming later this year have arrived.
First is the trailer for Oliver Hermanus’ “The History of Sound,” the Cannes-premiering World War I-set drama based on Ben Shattuck’s award-winning short story. “Gladiator II” star Paul Mescal plays Lionel, a man who falls for his music student David (Challengers’ Josh O’Connor).
Years later, the pair reunite and go on a mission to record the traditional music rooted in the backwoods of Maine – engaging in a love affair while collecting music. MUBI will open the film in cinemas September 12th.
Next, celebrated filmmaker Park Chan-wook (“The Handmaiden,” “Oldboy”) returns with “No Other Choice” which NEON has just premiered the teaser trailer for.
Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon and Lee Sung-min star in the black comedy thriller about a man who engages in a desperate hunt for new employment after being fired from a position he has held for 25 years.
No official release date for that project has been announced at this time.
