Wolves manager Vitor Pereira has given Ipswich Town yet more problems after dropping a positive injury update ahead of the crucial Premier League fixture.

It’s been a great week for Wolves as they have tied down star midfielder Joao Gomes to a new five-year deal and picked up a massive three points in the relegation battle.

Vitor Pereira’s side defeated West Ham United 1-0 on Tuesday thanks to Jorgen Strand Larsen’s first-half goal.

It took the Old Gold nine points above the relegation zone and that gap could be extended to 12 should they defeat Kieran McKenna’s Ipswich Town on Saturday.

It’s a massive fixture that could all but confirm Wolves’ survival and Pereira has revealed Rodrigo Gomes and Goncalo Guedes could both return from injury.

When asked at the start of the press conference if he had any injury concerns ahead of the match, Pereira simply replied: “No.”

However, when asked to elaborate further on whether that meant Gomes and Guedes were fit enough to be involved, he shared the happy news.

“Yes [they are available],” he said. “Maybe not flying but they will be able to help us.

“This is an important moment [in the season] and it’s good for me that I have the contribution of everybody.”

Rodrigo Gomes could play first game in months

Gomes could play for the first time since he played 17 minutes in the 2-0 victory over local rivals Aston Villa on February 1.

The winger suffered a hip injury and missed three matches before returning to the bench before the international break. However, he didn’t come on and was then not involved against West Ham.

Gomes brings youthful positivity to the attack and could be a real useful option off the bench against the Tractor Boys.

The creative Guedes, meanwhile, missed West Ham with a minor problem but could be fit in what would be another welcome return.
