Castleford Tigers have announced that Dan Okoro’s loan at the club has come to a premature end.
Okoro has spent the season so far at The Jungle on loan from Warrington Wolves, but he has now left the Tigers to pursue first-team opportunities elsewhere. The prop has been a regular member of Castleford’s 21-man squads this season but he has made just eight appearances across the campaign.
His last outing in black and amber came on May 30 as he started in the loss against his parent club Warrington. Since then he has struggled to get a look in with the signings of Tom Amone and Joe Stimson pushing him down the pecking order in West Yorkshire.

As such, the decision has been made to cancel his loan at the club with Warrington recalling him. Whether he will spend the rest of the season at the Halliwell Jones Stadium remains to be seen, though, with game time opportunities under Sam Burgess set to be hard to come by, too, especially following the addition of Ryan Matterson.
Another loan could well be on the cards for the forward then in order to make the most of the final months of the season.
Okoro is in his second season at Warrington having joined the club form Bradford Bulls in April last year on a three and a half year deal until the end of the 2027 season. He is yet to make his debut for the Wolves, though, with last season being spent on loan with Swinton Lions and Bradford.
The Nigeria international, who is just 22 years of age, started his career with Hull KR, progressing through the Robins’ academy set up as a youngster and into the first-team picture. However, he failed to make a senior appearance for KR with loans coming at Hunslet and Newcastle Thunder before his initial loan to Bradford in 2023.
That move was made permanent in September 2023, but his time at Odsal was short lived with his impressive form prompting Warrington to sign him the following April.
