Kiss co-founder Gene Simmons had a message for potential buyers of his Beverly Hills mansion: He didn’t want them to rock and roll all night and party every day.
‘You have such wonderful times there, you don’t want some schmuck in the place you call home,’ Simmons, 75, in April told The Wall Street Journal as he sought to sell the opulent Southern California abode.
Simmons, who played bass and shared vocals with Paul Stanley in the iconic band, laid forth specific rules for the type of buyer he preferred to sell to.
‘No drugs, no alcoholics,’ the Haifa, Israel-born musician said. ‘I don’t want anybody coming in there who is going to destroy the place.’
The I Was Made For Lovin’ You artist – who performed in the famed group and merchandising juggernaut with Stanley, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss – was able to sell the abode for double the $14 million asking price, according to Realtor.com.
The 7,741 square foot home has four bedrooms and five bathrooms, and was built in 2017.

It is located in the luxe Los Angeles enclave on a hill that provides views of neighboring areas such as Century City, Coldwater Canyon and the Pacific Ocean.
Simmons told WSJ he and his spouse Shannon Tweed Simmons had long resided in Beverly Hills.
They picked up the pad home in 2021 amid a planned move to Las Vegas, as a way to maintain a presence in the City of Angels.
But the Hide Your Heart artist and his wife found the desert heat of Las Vegas punishing, and relocated back to the Beverly Hills home, putting the Sin City abode on the real estate market.
Simmons told WSJ that ‘privacy, views and location near movie studios, business partners, and his children’ were all key factors in the selection of the Beverly Hills home.
‘Family is forever,’ Simmons told WSJ of the home while it was on the market.
The Forever artist continued, ‘You want someplace that can be your business center, close to everything that you need in L.A., but also a place where your kids want to come over and hang with you.’
Simmons said he and Tweed will be residing in Malibu at a mansion they bought recently.

‘I’m the most blessed human being on the planet,’ Simmons told WSJ. ‘These hard times, you don’t want to say I have too many houses, but we have too many properties.’
Their real estate portfolio also includes an additional property in Malibu, a Whistler, Canada home, and homes resided in by their children, Simmons told WSJ.
He said with the sale of the Beverly Hills home, he and Tweed will be traveling abroad to their other homes.
‘Wherever wifey wants, certainly,’ the musician said. ‘Certainly, happy wife, happy life.’
The listing was held by Compass agents Lisa Young, Kennon Earl and Thomas Davila.
