A popular fried chicken restaurant backed by celebrities including Drake, Usher and Samuel L Jackson, is preparing to open its first site here in Manchester.
The L.A. fried chicken brand, Dave’s Hot Chicken, recently opened its first store in London, and is now just weeks away from opening its first Manchester store at The Printworks in the city centre.
It will open its third UK venue in Manchester this August and the site’s menu will be the same as Dave’s Hot Chicken’s flagship site in London, including Dave’s signature Sliders, Tenders, Top-loaded Shakes and Slushers.
In the lead up to the launch, they’re giving out free food from a secret Manchester location next Tuesday, 29 July. Hundreds of free sliders will be available at a one-day only secret pop up.
The location has technically already been revealed via a cheeky hotline promoted on posters spotted at Oasis’s final Manchester gig.

On Sunday 20 July, thousands of Oasis fans at Heaton Park spotted cheeky posters plastered across the venue reading ‘Call for Hot Chicks on 07986 992770’.
The number led callers to a tongue-in-cheek voicemail revealing the date and secret location of the Manchester pop up. The hotline is still live so anyone can call now and find out where to go.
Jim Attwood Managing Director of Dave’s Hot Chicken UK said: “Manchester’s been asking for Dave’s and we couldn’t just open quietly.
“Flying a plane over an Oasis gig with a hotline number felt very us. This is about giving Mancunians a proper first taste of what Dave’s is all about. Big flavour big heat big energy.
“Come down and get involved – just don’t hang about once the sliders are gone they’re gone.”

While there will be hundreds of sliders on offer, they’ll be dishes out on a first-come-first-served basis.
Dave’s is known for its signature Nashville-style hot chicken – which you can get served in seven spice levels from “No Spice” to “Reaper” – as well as its “next level” milkshakes.
Last month when confirming the Manchester launch, bosses revealed the interior of the new site will be inspired by “Manchester’s rave scene” featuring an “industrial design”.
A statement read: “The space will take its cue from Manchester’s iconic warehouse rave scene with an industrial design – think towering ceilings, exposed steelwork, and laser lights. It’ll be a full on sensory trip, where music, light and fried chicken will come together to create a high-voltage experience.

“Adding to the edge whilst nodding to the brand’s L.A. roots, the space will be brought to life with bold, custom graffiti inspired by legendary L.A.-based street artists Splatterhaus and Dehmq – whose work has become a signature across all Dave’s locations.
“Their work combines the dynamic spirit of Los Angeles with Manchester’s raw, creative vibe, transporting guests into a whole new world of fried chicken indulgence.”
The brand was created in 2017 by three childhood friends, Chef Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganesyan and Tommy Rubenyan, who scraped together $900 to launch Dave’s Hot Chicken in a parking lot, portable fryers and folding tables in tow.
In 2019, the team struck a deal with Wetzel’s Pretzels co-founder and former CEO, Bill Phelps, to begin franchising the Dave’s Hot Chicken concept, with Billboard’s Artist of the Decade, Drake, investing in the brand as well.
The free sliders pop-up will take place at a mystery location next Tuesday, 29 July, and people can call 07914685296 for details.
