Six fire appliances have attended a report of a fire in a Belfast hotel this morning.

The crews attended the incident at the Hilton Hotel in the Lanyon Place area of the city.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said crews inspected the property before it was determined the incident was a “burst pipe”.

A NIFRS spokesperson said: “One appliance from Central Fire Station, one appliance and a Command Support Unit from Lisburn Fire Station, two appliances from Whitla Fire Station, one appliance and one aerial appliance from Knock Fire Station, and a specialist rescue team attended the incident.

“Firefighters were called to reports of a fire in Lanyon place, Belfast. After inspecting the property, Firefighters confirmed it was a burst pipe so they made the scene safe. The incident was dealt with by 4.49am.”
