Danielle Collins is one of the most entertaining players on tour and continues to entertain fans wherever she goes.

The American star made headlines earlier this year at the Australian Open following her win over home-favorite Destanee Aiava.

Collins blew a kiss to the crowd after the match and thanked them for paying for her holiday as they booed her off the Show Court Arena.

Not just known for her post-match antics, the 31-year-old has also produced several impressive performances in 2025, none more impressive than Collins’ straight-sets win over Iga Swiatek at the Italian Open.

Well-liked by the majority of her WTA Tour rivals, one player has now claimed she wants to start acting like Collins when she returns to action.

Daria Saville says she ‘loves’ Danielle Collins and wants to start acting like her

During the latest episode of ‘The Tennis’, former world number 20 Daria Saville shared her thoughts on Collins.

“I love her! I love it. I always want to do this,” she said.

“When I come back, I am going to be like Danielle [Collins].”

Collins and Saville have played once before on the WTA Tour, as the American emerged victorious in round one of the 2019 Fed Cup.

Saville would no doubt love an opportunity to play Collins again, but will need to improve her ranking, as she currently sits in 164th place, and isn’t guaranteed entry into the main draw of most WTA events.

Having suffered a ranking drop recently, Saville has played just eight main draw matches in 2025, winning three.

All three of Saville’s main draw wins came at the Merida Open, where she qualified for the semifinals.

There, she fell to Colombia’s Emilia Arango in three sets, 3-6, 6-4, 2-6, narrowly missing out on a place in her sixth WTA final.

Saville was last seen in action at Roehampton for the Wimbledon qualifying event, where she lost to Panna Udvardy, failing to qualify for a Grand Slam for the first time since 2014.

The Australian star hinted at taking a break from tennis during a recent Instagram video, where she commented on the ‘burnout’ several players have experienced.

“Tennis players are taking mental health breaks, honestly, so many players are struggling, including myself. I have not been enjoying hitting tennis balls, I have not been enjoying the process, I have not been enjoying the grind or the travel,” said Saville.

“Some people would say we’re becoming soft, I don’t know.

“In previous years, I would just keep grinding and keep feeling unhappy, but now I understand that keeping grinding is actually the easiest thing to do, and breaking the cycle of being unhappy is the hardest thing to do.”

Only time will tell when Saville will return to tennis, but fans can certainly look forward to seeing her new ‘Collins-like’ attitude when she does.

Could Danielle Collins win the Canadian Open?

Next up for Collins is a trip to Montreal for the Canadian Open, an event that has suffered several big-name withdrawals on both the men’s and women’s side.

With world number one Aryna Sabalenka skipping the event, the rest of the WTA Tour will no doubt hope to take advantage and win a ‘big’ title in the lead-up to the US Open.

Collins could be one such player to take advantage, having impressed on her most recent visit to the Great White North.

In 2023, Collins reached the quarterfinals of the Canadian Open, where she fell to the number one seed Iga Swiatek.

The 31-year-old would surely love to go all the way in Canada this time around and add a second WTA 1000 title to her collection.

Collins picked up the Miami Open title a year ago, but hasn’t returned to another final since.

Perhaps she’ll do so in Montreal, when the Canadian Open begins on Monday, July 28.
