There’s a fresh look for Scottish Rugby heading into the 2025-26 season – and it’s one steeped in passion, identity, and the unmistakable roar of a Murrayfield crowd.

Unveiled this week by Macron and Scottish Rugby, the new home kit will make its on-field debut this November during the Quilter Nations Series. It will then be worn by the Men’s, Women’s and U20s squads throughout the Six Nations campaigns starting in the new year.

In classic navy blue with subtle flourishes of heather purple, the jersey keeps to Scotland’s traditional aesthetic but adds a modern emotional punch – quite literally. The standout design feature? A tonal sound wave running across the sleeves, capturing the chant of “SCOTLAND! SCOTLAND! SCOTLAND!” as heard from the stands of Scottish Gas Murrayfield. It’s a visual echo of the fans’ voice, stitched directly into the fabric of the team.

Macron’s Ross Cook summed it up:

“So excited to be unveiling the new Scottish Rugby home kit as a tribute to the unique roar of Scottish Gas Murrayfield and the Hive.

“We’ve tried to capture the emotion every fan feels as the stadium erupts, interpreting that iconic sound into a striking sound wave design embossed into the fabric of the jersey.

“This jersey doesn’t just represent a Scottish team, it echoes a nation’s pride.”

The word “Scotland” is embossed repeatedly across the lower back, while inside the collar a bespoke tape alternates between the national crest and the team’s name – reinforcing the message that this is a jersey not just worn, but lived in.

Lead Creative Designer at Scottish Rugby, Laura Chessar, noted the emotional weight behind the design:

“This season’s design on our traditional dark navy base with a hint of purple heather on the trim is brought to life with the actual sound wave of home fans chanting ‘SCOTLAND! SCOTLAND! SCOTLAND!’ illustrated across the players’ shoulders and the words across their backs.

“When you hear the chant, the hairs stand up on the back of your neck and you’re transported to the electric atmosphere of Scottish Gas Murrayfield matchday.”

Beyond its emotive design, the kit also takes a step forward in sustainability. As with all Macron’s technical garments, it’s crafted from Eco Fabric – 100% recycled polyester sourced from plastic bottles. The use of Eco Armevo, Eco Bodytex and Eco Strong Mesh materials ensures the kit is as durable and breathable as it is environmentally conscious.

The home kit is rounded out with navy shorts (featuring lighter navy side stripes and purple trim) and navy socks topped with a subtle purple stripe – a nod to the nation’s landscape and heritage.

Fans can get their hands on the full range – including replica kits and exclusive Macron-designed merchandise – starting today at the Official Scottish Rugby Stores in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Wider retail availability begins 2 August, with the away kit set to drop in the coming weeks.

This isn’t just a kit. It’s a statement of identity, pride, and purpose. A visual representation of the 16th man in the stands – because when the team wears this jersey, they’re wearing every voice that’s ever belted out Flower of Scotland in full volume.
