In just 11 months the Middlesex Broadband Authority (MBA) has gone from ground breaking to building a 57-mile network of fiber-optic broadband in middle and upper Middlesex County that will connect about 1,000 unserved or underserved customers to state-of-the-art Broadband Internet.

On July 15, representatives from Middlesex County, the MBA, and All Points Broadband celebrated the 100th customer connection to All Points Broadband’s all-fiber network in Middlesex County at a Jamaica home. “For years we have heard from folks in the upper end of the county who felt left behind,” said Wayne Jessie, MBA chairman, who is a longtime Jamaica District representative on the Middlesex Board of Supervisors. “Today we are proud to say we kept our promise to close the digital divide.”

Middlesex County is the 10th Virginia county where All Points Broadband has construction underway or completed through public-private partnerships and a partnership with Dominion Energy Virginia. The Middlesex project is funded through investments by Middlesex County, the Department of Housing and Community Development’s Virginia Telecommunications Initiative, All Points Broadband and Dominion Energy Virginia.

Residents and businesses can sign up for project updates and pre-register for service by visiting apbfiber.com.
