The Swede has boarded a private jet as his transfer to Arsenal moves a step closer.

Man Utd scout 6ft5in centre-back likened to Rodri

Manchester United and Bayern Munich are tracking a towering 20-year-old with the potential to be the best centre-back Norway has ever produced.

The Red Devils scouted Brann’s Eivind Helland in his side’s 3-1 win against Viking Stavanger earlier this month.

And the Bundesliga champions followed suit by dispatching an official to watch the Norwegian Under-21 international in his side’s 2-0 defeat to KFUM in Oslo on Saturday.

Helland, who was compared to Ballon d’Or winner Rodri by Brann coach Freyr Alexandersson before the season began, blotted his copybook by getting sent off in the latter.

A frustrated swipe at a KFUM striker in stoppage time brought him a second yellow card.

Ruben Amorim has prioritised other positions in his recruitment drive to bring more goals to Old Trafford this summer.

Arteta provides Gyokeres update

Mikel Arteta is keen to have new boy Viktor Gyokeres on board for Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Asia — as the Gunners close in on a mega-money move for the Swedish striker.

A deal worth £55million up front, plus another £8.7m in add-ons, has been agreed with Sporting Lisbon, and Gyokeres is expected to complete his switch imminently.

Arteta, who’s wasting no time in shaping his squad for a title charge said :“Once everything’s finalised, we want him integrated with the team ASAP.”

Wissa talks on-going

Newcastle are still locked in talks to land Brentford striker Yoane Wissa — with Alexander Isak edging closer to a summer exit.

According to the BBC, negotiations hit a brief delay due to a private matter in the Brentford camp, but discussions are set to resume shortly.

The Bees are reluctant to sell, but could be tempted to cash in if a bid hits their £40million valuation for the Congo international.

Everton are lining up a move for Argentina World Cup hero Nicolas Tagliafico as part of their major summer rebuild.

The Toffees, now under the ownership of The Friedkin Group, are reshaping the squad ahead of their big move to the new Hill Dickinson Stadium — and boss David Moyes wants reinforcements across the pitch.

With Ashley Young gone, and doubts over Michael Keane and Nathan Patterson, full-back has become a top priority. Now Tagliafico, a free agent after leaving Lyon, is firmly on their radar.

The 31-year-old, who lifted the World Cup with Argentina in 2022, is also attracting interest from West Ham and Sevilla, so Everton may have to act fast to land their man.

Tagliafico can slot in as a traditional left-back or a wing-back — exactly the kind of versatility Moyes needs as several players head for the exit this window.

There’s been some good news for fans, though — star centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite has penned a new five-year deal, while Seamus Coleman is staying on for another year.
