First Nations Cable and Solo Cable Solutions Inc. say the ongoing project to have the entire Six Nations community available to access fibre optic internet is nearly complete.
During the July 22 general council meeting a presentation was given to update the community on the projects deadline status.
Troy Sider of Solo Cable Solutions says the project now only has 46 km of fibre optic lines left to be installed to have homes ready for service.
The project which began in 2023, has long been awaited by residents in the community who struggle with slow internet speeds. During the update Sider says the installation project is on target and he expects it to be completed by its deadline of Dec. 31 2025.
Six Nations Elected Council accepted the presentation on the project as information and say updates will be provided as it nears completion.
