Oasis have given an unexpected tribute to Ozzy Osbourne at their first London show this evening as the brothers continue their Live ’25 reunion tour. Ozzy died at the age of 76 this week.

The touching tribute comes as the Manchester brothers have made a massive comeback as they take their Oasis Live ’25 tour around the country. The brothers have just performed a string of homecoming shows in Manchester – but tonight they kick off their five show run at Wembley Stadium in London.

Before coming on stage this evening, Oasis played Ozzy Osbourne’s cover of Neil Young’s Rockin’ in the Free World over the speakers, before the Gallagher brothers emerged on-stage holding hands again.

About half an hour into the gig, the Britpop band dedicated their hit Live Forever to the late Prince of Darkness, and projected his image onto the screens, as fans sang along.

Liam Gallagher said: “I wanna dedicate this one to Ozzy Osborne: Rock N Roll Star”.

The touching tribute comes after Ozzy Osbourne passed away at the age of 76 on the evening of Tuesday, July 22.

The Black Sabbath singer had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019. During a long music career, he was at the forefront of the heavy metal scene – a deeper, darker offshoot of hard rock.

A statement from his family said: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

Oasis are performing at Wembley Stadium for five nights, followed by an eight week gap, and an additional two dates.

The extra two Wembley dates were added due to unprecedented demand for tickets during the sale last summer, which saw some people wait in virtual queues for hours trying to secure tickets.

Oasis are performing at Wembley Stadium on July 25, 26, 30, August 2, 3 and September 27 and 28.

The pair were holding hands again as they walked on stage to a sold out Wembley arena – something they have been doing since their first show in Cardiff at the start of the month.

And as they approached the centre of the stage, Noel stepped back and bowed down to his brother Liam as the crowed cheered along.
