Leeds United are reportedly keen on signing Millwall defender Japhet Tanganga this summer.

Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has assessed the Englishman’s fitness from last season ahead of a potential transfer in the coming weeks.

Last season, Tanganga played just 40 games in the Championship, missing a few games due to injury.

The Elland Road outfit are expected to take a closer look at the 26-year-old’s game time over the past few years before making a decision, according to Dr Brar.

Leeds United are keen on Tanganga and an exit could be on the cards for him this summer at the right price.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Dr Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said about Pobega: “Leeds are expected to take a closer look at his game time and general pattern of injuries.

“There was even a cracked bone in his wrist, but it did not seem that serious.

“However, that is unlikely to cause him any issues with his medical, but is still worth considering.”

Leeds United’s recent signings of Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw have significantly bolstered their defensive line, reducing the need for Tanganga.

Bijol and Bornauw, both towering at 6ft 3in, provide physicality and aerial dominance, enhancing Leeds’ set-piece capabilities.

With Gabriel Gudmundsson also joining, the defence is well-equipped.

Leeds are now prioritising attacking reinforcements, targeting a wide attacker like Feyenoord’s Igor Paixao and a striker.

These additions address critical needs in the final third, aligning with Daniel Farke’s strategy to build a balanced, competitive squad for the Premier League.
