A guest was left ‘horrified’ after discovering ‘blood stains and hair’ in a Birmingham hotel room.

The customer called it ‘unacceptable’ and criticised cleanliness and hygiene standards from the budget hotel chain.

Located on Lionel Street, ibis Styles Birmingham Centre has has a 4.1 score out of five stars on Google Reviews.

A guest identified as David said: “Stayed here again recently. Honestly cannot fault the place.

“Staff are excellent, everything runs smoothly, food is a great standard.

“So convenient for access to the airport and Resorts World, I’m surprised it’s not busier.”

A different person identified as Brian commented: “Great location. Central for everything.

“Clean comfortable rooms. Slept well, staff friendly and obliging.”

And one customer posted: “The thing that stood out the most for us was the staff.

“They were so friendly and polite. I asked for hot milk for my baby and they accommodated this request.

“Even the staff who were serving during breakfast were nice.”

Despite positive reviews, a recent guest left a one-star review and was ‘horrified’ after discovering ‘blood stains’ and ‘various’ hairs’ on the bed sheets.

The customer said: “During my recent stay at this hotel, I was horrified to discover blood stains and various hairs on the bed sheets, indicating a severe lapse in cleanliness and hygiene protocols.

“This not only reflects poorly on the establishment’s standards but also poses potential health risks to guests.

“Such negligence is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the hotel’s commitment to guest safety and comfort.

“I strongly advise management to address these issues promptly to prevent future occurrences.”

ibis Styles Birmingham Centre responded: “We sincerely apologise for the cleanliness issues you encountered during your stay.

“This does not meet our usual standards, and we are investigating the matter to prevent future occurrences.

“Your feedback is important, and we are committed to improving.

“We hope to have the opportunity to provide a better experience in the future.”
