A campsite within an hour’s drive of Bristol is among the country’s best, according to a booking website. Campsites.co.uk found the South West had 43 “outstanding sites” in 2025 – with the highest rated one in the region being in Glastonbury, Somerset.
With the overall list having 150 sites, this meant the South West was the region that had the highest number of campsites featured in the list across the UK. Old Oaks Touring Park had the highest average review score in the region, with an average rating of 5/5 after having 19 reviews.
The website describes the site as: “Old Oaks Touring Park is a beautifully landscaped adult only park, located ten minutes from Glastonbury, and a 40 minute walk from Glastonbury Tor.
“The site offers spacious pitches where you can relax, unwind and enjoy the panoramic views. There is a guest lounge with a bar, a licensed shop with local produce, takeaway food, a dog walking field and a fishing lake.”
Coming second was Hallsdown Farm Touring Park, in Barnstaple, Devon, (average rating of 4.95/5), followed by Hincknowle Cider Apple Farm Camping, in Bridport, Dorset (average rating of 4.94/5).

Coming fourth was Langstone Manor Holiday Park in Tavistock, Devon, (average rating of 4.93/5) and Cheddar Bridge Touring Park (average rating 4.93/5) was fifth.
