The Clyde Tunnel has been closed in both directions this afternoon following what police have described as an “ongoing incident”.

Police Scotland confirmed the alert was first raised at around 2.45pm on Saturday, July 26, 2025. As of 4pm, the busy route linking Govan and Thornwood in Glasgow’s west end remained shut.

Photos from the scene show both police officers and fire crews in attendance. Loals reports have suggested that someone has fallen from a bridge above the tunnel, but this is not confirmed by police.
