Pound-for-pound great Terence Crawford is being targeted for a showdown against a ‘giant’ reigning world champion.

The 37-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska is 41 fights into his glittering professional career which began back in 2008.

‘Bud’ has already captured world titles in four weight divisions, as well as becoming the undisputed world champion at both super-lightweight and welterweight.

The unbeaten American is now less than two months away from his highly-anticipated clash with Mexican icon Canelo Alvarez, as he sets his sights on writing his name into the boxing history books by becoming the first fighter to win all four belts in three weight classes.

As he prepares for what is set to be the toughest test of his career, Crawford is also on the radar of reigning WBC super welterweight champion Sebastian Fundora, also known as the ‘The Towering Inferno’.

Speaking in the post-fight press conference after his recent victory over Tim Tszyu, Fundora said that he still ‘hopes’ to secure a showdown with Crawford in the future, as well as a potential clash with former unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr.

“I hope so. You know I still would like to fight those guys. We have Crawford fighting Canelo now, super big fight. And then Spence, I don’t know where he’s at but I’m sure he’s gonna come back good and strong.”

6ft 6in Fundora, who is taller than the current undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, made the second defence of his WBC world title against Australia’s Tszyu in Las Vegas last weekend, stopping the 30-year-old in the seventh round of their highly-anticipated rematch on the undercard of Manny Pacquiao’s comeback fight against Mario Barrios.

Crawford has previously expressed an interest in moving back down to super welterweight and attempt to unify the belts, though he will lose the WBA title he currently holds when the first bell rings against Canelo.
