South Norfolk Council has taken away the bins which were next to the Jubilee Hall in Loddon.

This comes after they were photographed stuffed with non-recyclable bags and with rubbish overflowing on to the ground.

A spokesman for the council said: “We do not like removing bins but unfortunately we have had to.”

A spokesman for Loddon Town Council, which maintains the centre, said it had been informed by the district council that the bins were removed due to “repeated misuse”.

Locals have now been asked to use their household recycling bins or visit a local recycling centre instead.
