Alexander Bublik’s magical 2025 continues, with the 28-year-old having claimed yet another title.

Opting to remain on the clay courts after Wimbledon, given the success he enjoyed at Roland Garros, the Kazakhstani made the bold choice to omit Washington from his schedule and delay his move over to North America for their hard-court portion of the tour.

Unwilling to be pressured by what is expected of most players, he instead felt it would be better to remain on a surface he is clearly loving at the moment.

This started in Gstaad, where Bublik soared to the title without dropping a set, before then heading over to Kitzbuhel in Austria to try and do the same.

Naturally, few expected someone as unpredictable as he can be to win back-to-back titles, but that is exactly what he has done.

Now, only Carlos Alcaraz can better what he has achieved in 2025.

Alexander Bublik wins another title in Kitzbühel

Throughout his career, many have been keen to label Bublik as a supremely talented player without the necessary work ethic to trouble the very best.

2025 has seen him make extraordinary strides to dispel such a myth, particularly his form over the last three months.

During that spell, he has reached the quarter-finals of the French Open, beating Alex de Minaur and world number four Jack Draper on the way, before following that up with a title in Halle, where he beat Jannik Sinner, the world’s top-ranked player, during his run.

It marked a mesmeric couple of events, somewhat marred by his shock early exit at Wimbledon.

However, this did not knock Bublik from his path, returning to the clay to hoover up two more titles, making it three for the year.

This is a feat that only Alcaraz can surpass, having won five in 2025. Novak Djokovic, Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev and Taylor Fritz are just a few of the world’s very best players who, this year, have won fewer titles than Bublik. It’s been a supreme year for the magical tennis star.

After winning his title in Gstaad, Bublik revealed what he told Juan Manuel Cerundolo Cerundolo at the net, in yet another glimpse into the hilarious personality he boasts.

Alexander Bublik is going to be a problem at the US Open

Although this was said in the lead-up to Wimbledon, it really does feel like Bublik could be a real threat at the US Open.

After all, his thunderous serve lends itself to any surface, and with the technical quality to blast the ball past his opponent or keep them running with a feathered drop shot, this should translate well to the American hard courts.

His previous best-ever run in New York came all the way back in 2019, where he reached the third round, having lost in the first round in the last two years.

Bublik will be expected to comfortably surpass that stage this year, especially with the form he is enjoying, and there are few seeds who will want to see him in their area of the US Open draw.
