Sheffield United have been very active in the transfer market this summer, and they are showing no signs of slowing down.
After Vini Souza’s £13m move to Wolfsburg, finding new stars at Bramall Lane has been crucial, with promotion to the Premier League being the Blades’ target after a heartbreaking end to the 2024/25 campaign.
Tommy Watson’s 95th minute Wembley winner for Sunderland will still be on the minds of many in South Yorkshire, but there are fresh hopes for the future with Louie Barry now playing in red-and-white.
Nevertheless, there is another Premier League youngster who Sheffield United are now keen on, and they are pursuing a loan deal for the midfielder.
Sheffield United register interest in Everton’s Tim Iroegbunam
Michael Cooper is the subject of interest from West Ham United, but that is not putting the Blades off their own ventures this transfer window, with Tim Iroegbunam the latest player whom Ruben Selles likes.

Alan Nixon has reported that Sheffield United are keen on a loan move for the midfielder who joined Everton last summer. He said: “Everton midfielder Tim Iroegbunam is wanted on loan by Sheffield United.
“The Blades are looking in that market just now and are keen to land the classy Iroegbunam who joined the Toffees from Aston Villa a year ago.
“Iroegbunam has other admirers but a move to Bramall Lane may appeal to him even if it means dropping out of the Premier League.”
Steven Gerrard is a big fan of Tim Iroegbunam
According to BBC Sport, Everton paid £9m for the midfielder last summer, as he left Aston Villa to join the Toffees.
At Villa, his potential was clear to see but he has not quite been able to take advantage of that so far, and his appearances have been sporadic.
He’s currently out in the USA with Everton for the Premier League Summer Series, but a move later on in the window for Iroegbunam could be on. If Sheffield United do complete a deal, then Steven Gerrard would give it the seal of approval, with the ex-Aston Villa boss a fan of the 22-year-old.

He said in 2022 (via: Birmingham Live): “He’s got a fantastic profile for a number six. He’s a long project for us to work at. He’s still very raw but he’s got a lot of attributes that we like.
“Tim has got to work on his game, I went to watch him for the under-23s in the week, and he started a little bit slow and got sent off at the end but in the middle bit of the game he was outstanding and looked like a Premier League player.”
