King Charles will make the “final decision” as to whether Prince Harry can return to the U.K., royal experts have claimed with the possibility of an in-person meeting with King Charles happening this September.
There seems to be two schools of thought, that Prince William is calling the shots, and the in-person meeting won’t happen without his approval, at the same time, the second school of thought is that Charles is King and he makes the final decision.
Ian Pelham Turner, former royal photographer, agrees with the second school of thought, that Charles is King and it’s his decision as to whether or not a meeting with Harry takes place.
Pelham Turner told Express US: “In my opinion, the feeling I get, is that William is trying to take over the monarchy and in reality, Charles is saying, ‘I’m the King. Not you.’
He explained: “What I mean by taking over the monarchy is that he’s become very forceful in any opinion.”
Pelham Turner has his finger on the heartbeat of Britain and is well-connected in the royal and media circles, which is where he’s getting his insider information.
According to the photographer-turned-TV commentator, there have been rumours of William “causing issues,” and it was Queen Camilla who stepped in, whispering in her husband’s ear to put a stop to it.
He explained: “I think what is happening at the moment, and it’s just my inkling, there’s nothing I can sort of prove, and say, ‘this is the case,’ but I get the feeling at the moment, that she’s seeing William trying to create issues and she’s told Charles to stop it.”
According to the royal commentator, there’s been a lot of talk about William trying to prove to those around him “that he’s the driving force behind the throne,” but Pelham Turner disagrees, saying, “I think, Charles should be.”

Meanwhile, royal expert Pauline Maclaran, co-author of Royal Fever and Professor of Marketing and Consumer Research at Royal Holloway, University of London, said Charles wants reconciliation.
She said, “I go with the second school of thought, that it will be the King who makes the final decision.
“As a father and quite an emotional man, he is likely to want some sort of reconciliation with his son.
“So I don’t think William will be calling the shots, although he may advise his father in relation to any intended meeting.”
While Wiliam is known to be stubborn and appears to be holding a grudge against Harry, Maclaran believes William understands that a father and son relationship is very different from a sibling one.
Jennie Bond, former BBC Royal Correspondent, also chimed in, sharing her thoughts on a possible in-person meeting between Harry and Charles and whether or not it will happen.
Bond’s vote goes to Charles, but not because he’s King, but rather because he’s Dad.
She said: “In my opinion, it’s a parent’s job to be the bigger person in every family row: to open your arms and say ‘Well, you behaved pretty badly, but come here and let me give you a hug.’
“Whether Charles feels ready to do that is very much open to question.”
