Nine men were arrested after trouble involving weapons erupted on a street in the early hours.

West Midlands Police responded to reports of a group fighting with weapons early today, Sunday, July 27, in Parkfield Road, Wolverhampton.

Two men were taken to hospital.

A picture from the scene showed part of the route sealed off on Sunday morning.

A police car was stationed at the scene.

West Midlands Police said officers will be running patrols in the area following the violence.

It said: “We’ve arrested nine men following disorder on Parkfield Road, Wolverhampton, in the early hours of this morning.

“We responded quickly to reports of a group fighting with weapons shortly after midnight.

“Two men were taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries.

“Our investigation is at an early stage but the nine will be questioned on suspicion of violent disorder.

“Anyone with information about what happened should call us on 101 quoting Log 37 of 27 July.

“Officers remain at the scene and patrols around the area will continue.”
