Denver Nuggets star center Nikola Jokic fell short of winning the NBA championship this year, but he has a new reason to celebrate this summer.
Jokic, who is a longtime horse racer, watched one of his horses win a race in his native Serbia on Sunday. The victory moved the three-time NBA MVP to tears.
After getting the emotions out of the way, Jokic celebrated by treating his horse trainers and jockey to a champagne shower before pouring some on himself.
Jokic also gave a post-race interview in which he was visibly giddy over the win:
Sunday’s win adds another feather in the cap for Jokic and his successful Dream Catcher horse stable. The 30-year-old is committed to his side career as a horse racer, and it can be expected that he will stick with it long after his basketball days are over.
