Things are starting to take shape for Sheffield United as they prepare for the new season, and one potential new arrival could be a real gamechanger.
Since parting ways with Chris Wilder and installing Ruben Selles as their new manager, there have been doubts as to whether Sheffield United can go one better and achieve promotion in 2025/26.
Indeed, in our Championship preview for the new season, we suggested that upheaval and a lack of quality added to the squad could hinder their chances.
However, with Louie Barry now on board, the Blades are targeting another wide player who could end up being very useful for Selles.

As per the latest report from Alan Nixon on Patreon, United are now in pole position to land the signature of Oliver Antman from Go Ahead Eagles.
Nixon claims Sheffield United have now “raised funds” to make the purchase of the Finland ace and are “leading” the race.
Antman has been offered to plenty of Championship clubs this summer but it is the Blades who are ready to make the decisive move and snap him up.
We revealed last month that Antman had been offered to Birmingham City and Blackburn Rovers.

Antman himself has said he is happy to stay in Holland with Go Ahead Eagles after enjoying himself last season. The winger registered 17 assists in all competitions, while scoring six goals.
While that loyalty is commendable, it would be a real shame if fans in England don’t get to witness Antman’s talents first-hand this coming season.
The transition from Dutch football to the EFL can be difficult at times, but after topping the assist chart in the Eredivisie last term, Antman is the kind of creative talent the Championship is crying out for.
Birmingham City fans were raving about Antman when they were first linked to him. Now, it’s Sheffield United fans who look set to celebrate his arrival.
