Manny Pacquiao made a sensational return to boxing last weekend after a four year hiatus.
The 46-year-old from the Philippines clashed with reigning WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday night.
Pacquiao put on an impressive display against the younger champion, proving that age is just a number, however despite the eight division world champion’s best efforts, the fight was declared a majority decision draw.
Two out of the three judges at ringside scored the contest 114-114 even, whilst the other judge had scored it 115-113 in favour of defending world champion Barrios.
It appears that a rematch between the Filipino great and Barrios is out of the question however, as revealed by Pacquiao’s manager Sean Gibbons in an interview on The Mayweather Channel, as he named the two big names that ‘Pac-Man’ would target instead.
“F–k Mario Barrios. Who the f–k wants to see him? Manny Pacquiao beat Mario Barrios. F–k Mario Barrios. Not in a bad way, I like him, but f–k him. Manny Pacquiao beat Mario Barrios. Why should he, why does he need to fight him again? You know, if Manny wants to continue fighting, there’s fighters like Rolly Romero, there’s fighters like Gervonta Davis.”
Pacquiao has already confirmed that he intends to continue with his professional boxing career, despite being just a few months away from his 47th birthday.
The eight-division world champion could go on to face one of the other world welterweight champions next, although there has been rumours circulating that a potential rematch against former rival Floyd Mayweather could also be on the cards for ‘Pac-Man’.
