Artwork around the city of Leeds has been cropping up more and more often over the past decade, with Leeds United heroes past and present commemorated in classy fashion.

Leeds’ return to the Premier League brought a celebration that very few clubs in the country could even dream of mustering up, and it showed the love to Daniel Farke and his side after a historic title win.

It was, however, also a build-up for the Leeds fanbase of five years without something to celebrate, and being unable to truly savour when Marcelo Bielsa achieved the same feat in 2020.

Newest Leeds United mural commemorates Marcelo Bielsa and Daniel Farke title wins

The outpouring of joy from the Leeds fanbase back in May was not only giving appreciation to Farke, but also to the Bielsa side that never got their parade, as shown by Pascal Struijk rocking both league-winners’ medals on the open-top bus.

Bielsa has several murals to celebrate his Elland Road legacy across the city, but Farke is yet to have such honour after two years at the club.

However, his 100-point title win has seen local artist Robert Endeacott continue his artwork near Elland Road, with his latest edition being a joint piece for Leeds’ two most recent Championship winners:

As Robert notes in his post on X, the piece is yet to be finished, but forms the newest part of an ongoing series of paintings of Leeds United icons on Elland Road, next to the Old Peacock pub.

John Charles, Eddie Gray, Billy Bremner, Gary Speed and Pablo Hernandez are the players currently honoured with their own paintings, with Farke and Bielsa joining next to Hernandez.

Elland Road finally becoming a place Leeds United fans are proud of

For years, we didn’t even own the stadium we played in, let alone have it feel like how it should for Leeds fans at Elland Road.

But the cosmetic additions made around the stadium, whether it’s these murals or just the overall use of more colour around the ground, it looks so much better now.

These murals are just another insight into just how much more connected the fans are to the club than they were a decade ago, and it’s great to see these figures being appreciated as they should.
