This means all lines between Springburn and Gartcosh will be closed, affecting routes between the city centre and Cumbernauld.
ScotRail has arranged a rail replacement bus service for affected passengers.
Elsewhere, engineering work is taking place between Partick and Rutherglen.
Trains to Glasgow Central will still run, but will travel via Kirkhill and Mount Florida, resulting in increased journey times.
Train bosses wrote online: “On Sun, 27 July, engineering work is taking place between Partick/Rutherglen and also between Springburn/Gartcosh, which will impact various lines.
“Check replacement bus times/service info in advance.
“Journey times may be extended, so allow extra time for travel.”
ScotRail is urging passengers to plan ahead and warns that replacement services may be busier than usual.
Travellers are being asked to allow extra time for their journeys.
Customers are advised to keep an eye on social media platforms for more information.
Elsewhere cops are appealing for witnesses after a couple were caught performing a sex act on a busy ScotRail train.
The incident occurred on board a service from Queen Street in Glasgow to Edinburgh‘s Waverley Station at around 7 pm on June 8.
The pair sat in seats closest to the doors at the back of the train.
Shortly after the train departed Glasgow, the woman was spotted performing a sex act on the man before being interrupted by a guard doing his rounds.
