03:00 CET – Australian number one Alex De Minaur comes from a set and several match points down to defeat Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 5-7, 6-1, 7-6 (3) to capture the title in DC. He now makes a return to the top 10, claiming his 10th ATP title.

02:55 CET – Canada’s Bianca Andreescu manages to hold her nerve and defeat Barbora Krejcikova 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the next round. The former US Open champion needed a medical timeout on match point after twisting her ankle, but she managed to overcome the pain to prevail.

02:25 CET – Danielle Collins battles her way past Viktoriya Tomova 6-3, 7-5 to progress to the second round in Montreal.

23:41 CET – Rounding up a few more results from Canada, on the men’s side in Toronto, veteran Gael Monfils has narrowly lost out to qualifier Tomas Barrios Vera, who won their first-round clash 6-4, 4-6, 7-6.

Earlier, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard cruised through with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Shintaro Mochizuki.

In the women’s tournament in Montreal, rising Canadian talent Victoria Mboko defeated Kimberly Birrell 7-5, 6-3.

23:15 CET – The men’s final in DC will be getting underway shortly. That one is between seventh seed Alex de Minaur and 12th seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

22:09 CET – A dominant Leylah Fernandez has steamrolled Anna Kalinskaya 6-1, 6-2 to win the WTA final at the Washington DC Open.

It is the Canadian 22-year-old’s fourth career title and her first since 2023 – read all about her win here.

Being her first win in a WTA 500 event, this is Fernandez’s biggest moment since she made the US Open final back in 2021 as a teenager.

20:20 CET – The first of the two Washington finals – the WTA decider between Leylah Fernandez and Anna Kalinskaya – has been slightly delayed due to extreme weather in the DC area.

On the women’s side in Montreal, Jaqueline Cristian has advanced with a win over wild card Marina Stakusic. Suzan Lames also goes through after beating Polina Kudermetova. Meanwhile, American qualifier Katie Volynets has lost to Aoi Ito.

On the men’s side in Toronto, Adam Walton has beaten Benjamin Bonzi 4-6, 6-0, 6-3 to move into the second round. 

13:23 CET – We have two finals to look forward to this evening in Washington, as Leylah Fernandez and Anna Kalinskaya vie for the women’s title at 20:30 CET, before Alex de Minaur takes on Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the men’s showpiece.
