The summer transfer window has so far seen three new players arrive at Old Trafford as Ruben Amorim looks to strengthen his squad for the upcoming season that is now just weeks away.
Matheus Cunha completed a move from Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier in the window. He was joined by young left-back Diego Leon who have moved from Cerro Porteno in Paraguay.
United have now also completed the signing of Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo after drawn out negotiations with the fellow Premier League club.
With a few weeks of the transfer window remaining, there is still expected to be quite a lot of business both in terms of incomings and outgoings before the September 1 deadline. With the start of the Premier League action on the horizon things could ramp up again this week.
United have been linked with goalkeepers this window amid talk over the future of Andre Onana. As reported by MEN Sport, Onana has no intention of leaving Old Trafford this summer, and Amorim’s side have not budgeted to bring in a new first choice this summer.
That has however not stopped them being linked with players in that position. L’Equipe report that United are in the race for Paris Saint-Germain’s Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The Italian’s exit from the French club is looking more likely with PSG closing in on a move for Lucas Chevalier. There is also said to be no progress on talks over a new contract.
While a move is not planned, it could be an opportunity that presents itself to United, and they could potentially make a move if they feel that the deal is right. Some reports suggest that PSG are looking for a fee of around €40 million (£35m).
Another player to be linked with a move to United in recent days is Metz forward Idrissa Gueye. The Sun say that United have entered a transfer battle with fellow Premier League side Brentford for the 18-year-old striker.
Burnley and Borussia Dortmund are also said to be showing an interest, with the asking price set at £15 million. The teenager has been with the French side since January and has scored five goals in 17 Ligue 2 appearances.
In terms of outgoings, United have a few players who are expected to leave the club before the end of the window. One of those is winger Antony.
The Brazilian spent the second half of last season out on loan with Real Betis where he became a fan favourite. He returned to United at the end of the season but has been linked with a move to Saud Arabia.
The player’s agent has revealed that it’s a move that Antony would be open to. A deal could therefore be potentially be sorted quickly if a Saudi club comes forward with a price close to what United want.
Jadon Sancho is another who is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer. The winger spent last season on loan with Chelsea, but returned to United this summer.
Corriere dello Sport report that Juventus have now reached an agreement on personal terms with the winger. If an agreement can be reached with United over a fee is still to be seen.
This week could also see some youngsters in the United squad go on loan to build up their experience.
Goalkeeper Radek Vitek has reportedly agreed to join Championship side Bristol City on loan for the season. The 21-year-old was left out of United’s squad for the tour of the US to focus on securing a loan move away from the club.
The player was said to be in attendance for the Robins’ pre-season match against Plymouth Argyle on Saturday afternoon.
Another player who was left out of the squad to focus on seucring a loan move is 18-year-old full-back Harry Amass. While there is yet to be any specific links, it is reported that there is both interest from clubs in the Championship and around Europe in the teenager.
