The first half of Round 20 of Super League is done and there are a number of players nervously awaiting the disciplinary outcomes.
Round 20 has been split over two weeks to allow teams a rest and that meant that just three games were played this weekend with the likes of Hull KR, St Helens and Warrington Wolves all having time off.
From those who did play, Wakefield Trinity were the big winners as they edged Leeds Rhinos 15-14 in a West Yorkshire derby in front of a sold-out crowd, whilst play-off rivals Hull FC slipped up and lost to Huddersfield Giants 30-14.
The third game saw Wigan Warriors get back to winning ways with a 28-18 win over Catalans Dragons, albeit a win that wasn’t Wigan at their clinical best.
With half as many games, there could be half as many disciplinary charges and whilst there was just one sin bin across the three games, the Match Review Panel will ensure to check everything out, however, it’s been confirmed that they will do that next Monday so players’ nervous wait will last over a week before they find out if they get banned.
Who will be sweating the Super League disciplinary verdict?
Brodie Croft was the only man sent to the sin bin this week and that came for a trip, something that likely won’t be punished to severely by the Match Review Panel.
Croft currently has a clean disciplinary record as well so the likelihood of him being banned and missing a Super League game is very slim.
Harry Newman also has a clean record but his high shot on Oliver Pratt late in the match on Thursday could see him punished.
Another unpunished incident happened on Saturday when Hull FC captain Aidan Sezer caught Huddersfield youngster George Flanagan late.
Late shots have been punished plenty this year and that could be looked at today by the Match Review Panel, although it likely won’t result in a ban as Sezer is another player without any previous penalty points on his record.
