Leeds United have been chasing Igor Paixao this summer, and a deal has now been agreed.
The Feyenoord winger was outstanding in the Eredivisie last season, and Paixao subsequently attracted interest from several clubs.
Leeds are keen on signing a winger after the departure of loanee Manor Solomon, and the Brazilian would arguably be an upgrade on the Tottenham attacker.
However, Paixao will no longer head to Elland Road this summer, as Daniel Farke has now been handed a huge blow.

Leeds were battling with French giants Olympique Marseille for Paixao’s signature, but despite returning to the Premier League, they have now lost the race.
Fabrizio Romano has now reported via X (28 July) that Paixao will join Marseille after an agreement was reached with Feyenoord, and this comes after Leeds made an improved bid to sign him.

It is claimed that Paixao was more keen on Marseille rather than a move to Elland Road, and this has facilitated the agreement, with the 25-year-old set to sign a five-year deal in France.
This is a massive blow for Leeds, who had earmarked Paixao as a key target, and they will now need to find an alternative quickly.

Losing out on Paixao could mean that Leeds return to sign Solomon from Spurs, with the winger’s future currently unclear.
While he did impress in the Championship last season, many fans would be underwhelmed if Solomon’s return is the only winger signing the club makes.
It is questionable if Solomon can make the step up to the Premier League, and going from a high-profile signing in Paixao to a return of a former loanee would be disappointing.
Leeds were hoping to sign Paixao soon, with the season starting within a few weeks, but they will now need to move quickly to seek out an alternative winger after losing this public transfer battle.
Paixao scored 18 goals and provided 19 assists last season, and it is unlikely that the Whites will find someone with that level of output under their belt.
