A viral video showing a busload of IPS officers entering Aamir Khan’s home had social media buzzing with speculation.

A recent video showing a luxury bus full of IPS officers entering Aamir Khan’s residential compound had sparked a wave of speculation online. From theories about a high-security film project to whispers of trouble with his luxury cars, the rumour mill had a field day. However, the real reason behind the visit has now been clarified — and it’s far more wholesome than expected.

Putting an end to the buzz, a spokesperson from Aamir Khan’s team shared, “The IPS trainees of the current batch had requested a meeting with him, and Aamir Khan hosted them at his residence.”

This isn’t the first time the actor has interacted with civil service aspirants. Ever since his 1999 classic Sarfarosh — in which he portrayed a tough and idealistic IPS officer — Khan has become an inspirational figure among police trainees. The actor has reportedly been meeting batches over the years, offering insights into his cinematic journey and broader discussions around patriotism, public service, and nation-building.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan has been basking in the success of his recent release Sitaare Zameen Par, which collected an impressive ₹165 crore nett at the Indian box office in its first month. Directed by RS Prasanna and co-starring Genelia D’Souza, the film has earned praise for its sensitive portrayal of inclusivity and neurodivergence.

Next up, the superstar is heading to Australia as the Chief Guest for the 2025 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), to be held from August 14 to 24. The festival will host a retrospective honouring Khan’s monumental contributions to Indian cinema, culminating in a special spotlight on Sitaare Zameen Par.

“I’m humbled and excited to be a part of the Melbourne Indian Film Festival,” Aamir said in a statement. “It’s a festival that truly honours the spirit of Indian cinema in all of its diversity and riches. With Sitaare Zameen Par, we attempted to tell a story that embraces inclusivity and neurodivergence with sensitivity and heart, and I’m grateful that the film has touched so many people. I am eager to share my journey with Melbourne and shed light on the stories that matter.”

On the acting front, Aamir has a busy slate. He is set to star in Coolie, alongside superstar Rajinikanth, and also in a film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Additionally, he’s confirmed to headline Rajkumar Hirani’s much-anticipated biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke — the father of Indian cinema.

As for his production house, Aamir Khan Productions is expected to make major announcements soon regarding upcoming ventures, keeping fans eagerly waiting for what’s next.
