ITV’s Love Island fans have been left squirming after family visits took an uncomfortable twist.

The Islanders were treated to surprise visits from their loved ones on Monday (July 28) night, and Cach Mercer’s siblings appeared less than pleased with Toni Laites’ treatment of their brother.

The American stunner recently reduced Cach to tears after unexpectedly recoupling with her former partner Harrison Solomon, who has since departed the villa.

Toni later reconciled with Cach and the pair have managed to mend their relationship. In tonight’s episode, Toni’s mum Leslie was quick to commend Cach for forgiving her daughter, even extending an invitation to him to visit their family home.

However, Cach’s brother D’Shae and sister Ayjah voiced their disapproval of Toni’s actions. Ayjah was particularly outspoken, advising her brother that Toni should have warned him about her feelings for Harrison rather than catching him off guard, reports OK!.

When the siblings later met Toni, viewers noted the extended periods of silence during their conversation. During their chat, Toni attempts to take responsibility for her unfair treatment of Cach, admitting: “I’m an idiot.”

But Cach’s sister doesn’t let her off the hook, retorting: “No, you’re not dumb,” before adding: “You knew you made the wrong decision.”

Ayjah later clarified: “You’re a good person… just communication girl.”

In another scene, Toni asks her partner’s siblings: “What else do you want to know about me?” To which Ayjah responds: “Nothing really.”

Someone shared their own verdict, stating: “I love Toni but if someone did what she did to Cach to my sibling yeah that’s no good sorry I’ll be holding a grudge.”

Meanwhile, a fourth penned: “I feel like this is going on toooo long now and the awkwardness from Cach’s siblings is making me cringe.

“It was awkward between Toni and Cach’s family. I mean I get it bc Toni did him wrong,” said a fifth.

Family day arrives following a surprising recoupling that left Helena in a friendship couple with Blu Chegini. The cabin crew member had recently become exclusive with Harry after strengthening their bond over several weeks.

However, the duo soon split after Harry’s concealed emotions for Shakira were revealed, leaving Helena heartbroken. Now, Harry has paired up with Shakira once more and appears keen to mend their relationship.

Whilst they’re hardly viewer favourites, Harry and Shakira currently sit fifth in the running for the Love Island title with 9/1 odds.

Bookmakers have also positioned Toni Laites and Cach Mercer as the frontrunners to triumph with 11/10 odds. Meanwhile, Yasmin Pettet and Jamie Rhodes stand as the second favourites, priced at 5/2.

Love Island continues on ITV2 and ITVX tomorrow night at 9pm
