EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders has delayed the big Zoe Slater reveal again after two twists of fate came between Kat Slater and the truth.
Viewers will know that Michelle Ryan made a brief return to the soap last month as Kat’s daughter Zoe, before running away to Barcelona after admitting she was in trouble.
While Kat was unaware that Zoe had returned, Kat’s husband Alfie Moon pledged to bring Zoe back from Spain, telling Kat he was going to Australia as his cancer was back.
In scenes that aired last week, Jean Slater blurted out that Alfie was actually helping Hayley and Cherry Slater, which was a fake story that Stacey Slater told her mum to cover up the truth about Zoe.
When Stacey left Alfie a message saying that Kat knew they had lied to her, Alfie finally confessed about Zoe, leaving a drunken voicemail for Kat.

In today’s episode, Kat, who is now the official landlady of The Vic, narrowly avoided finding out the truth about where Alfie had actually been following an incident with Jean.
After noticing the voicemail, Kat was about to play the message when Bert and Ernie Moon hit Jean in the arm with a dart. Rushing to Jean’s aid, Kat left her phone unattended at the bar .
Meanwhile, Alfie, who assumed that Kat had heard his voicemail message, arrived home with some Spanish gifts for his wife.
At The Vic and out of earshot of Kat, Alfie told Stacey that Zoe was still missing before an angry Kat threw Alfie’s flowers back in his face, calling him “the biggest liar in Walford”.

During a heart-to-heart, Alfie began to tell the truth, saying: “I just thought if you actually knew what I was doing, then you’d be hurt by it.”
Still in the dark, Kat said: “Cherry’s your daughter all right? And if it was my Zoe in trouble, I’d be on the first plane. I can’t be mad at you for that.”
Kat made Alfie promise not to lie to her again, saying she had heard the beginning of his voice message. It was later revealed that Kat’s phone had been stolen, meaning she never got to hear the whole thing.
When will Kat finally find out the truth?
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
