Police later locked down the scene and officers are investigating

Cops have launched a probe after the frightening confrontation broke out just yards from residents’ front doors around 6.45pm on April 11.

Footage emerged of five thugs chasing and flailing weapons at each other.

The clip starts with a dark coloured hatchback aggressively reversing into Elliston Avenue from Glenmuir Drive.

As the motor halts, two thugs run towards two others and one trips and falls to the ground.

The man gets to his feet and tries to flee but again falls to the ground as he tries to escape.

One brute catches up with him and wildly swings a golf club at him as another man tries to haul him to safety.

As the two men run away, another man appears holding what appears to be a machete and runs at the attacker holding the golf club.

The man with the golf club runs away but falls to the ground, while the thug brandishing the large blade swings it at him.

Screams can be heard and a resident watching the carnage gasps as the violence escalates.

Watching on, another local says: “He’s gonna hit that lassie. He’s just hit her with a golf club.”
