He’s aliiiiiive!

First-look photos of Jacob Elordi‘s transformation into Frankenstein’s monster have arrived — and are appropriately unsettling. Check out the new pics above and below.

The Euphoria star and Saltburn alum takes on the iconic role of the Creature in Guillermo del Toro‘s upcoming adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus.

“It’s parents and children,” Elordi told Vanity Fair of what this movie explores. “Fathers and sons, particularly.”

Elordi took over the role of Frankenstein’s monster after Andrew Garfield exited the movie due to scheduling conflicts.

“Andrew Garfield stepping out and Jacob coming in — I mean, it was like Jacob is the most perfect actor for the creature,” del Toro said. “And we have a supernaturally good connection. It’s like, very few words. Very few things I have to say, and he does it… We recast, and we had nine weeks. You can’t be under more pressure than that.”

The Netflix movie also stars Oscar Isaac as the titular Victor Frankenstein, the arrogant, ethically-ambiguous scientist who brings a creature (Elordi) to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.

“The most important figure from English legacy is, incredibly, for me, a teenager by the name of Mary Shelley, and she has remained a figure as important in my life as if she were family,” del Toro told Netflix’s Tudum. “And so many times when I want to give up, when I think about giving up, when people tell me that dreaming of the movies and the stories I dream are impossible, I think of her.”
